“Our interest in the fine art and our growing love of Australian works was the motivation for us to establish the Swansea Gallery”.
That’s how Nigel Satterley describes the origin of the Swansea Gallery which he and his wife Denise control and which has previously organised both the Jeffery Smart and Tim Maguire Perth Exhibitions.
The Swansea Gallery has a collection of many outstanding and valuable Australian works and the Satterleys are among WA’s best informed art devotees. Although the Gallery has a preponderance of the covered works of Jeffrey Smart, its collection includes painting by other iconic Australians. Tom Robert, of the famous Heidelberg school of Impressionists, Norman Lindsay, Arthur Boyd, John Brack, Charles Blackman, Fred Williams, Garry Shead and John Olson are among the galaxy of great Australian artists represented in the Swansea Gallery.

In 2012, from October 14 to October 21, Perth’s most exclusive suburb came into full bloom, not just with the flowers of Spring, but with the exciting and arguably unrivalled colour of one of Australia’s most talented and renowned contemporary artists.
Tim Maguire has won six major art prizes and his countless exhibitions include those in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, New Zealand, New York, Zurich, London and, Paris.
